Pollution is a big critical public health threat on par with malaria and tuberculosis, but while 125 million people around the world are at risk from toxic pollutants, these causes of illness and death are underestimated.
The number one reason for pollution is acid battery recycling. The second most toxic industry is lead smelting, with mining and ore process ranked third. The toxic that causes the most illness is lead, which impairs the development of children and causes heart diseases in adults. Pollution affects over a billion people around the world, with millions poisoned and killed each year. The World Health Organization estimates that 25% of all deaths are directly attributable to environmental factor.
Toxic emission from industry and other sources may contain greenhouse gasses. Therefore most sources of pollution contributed global warming. Unlike global warming, where the negative effects are evolutionary and solution elusive, the effects of pollution are immediate and deadly, and the solution are well-known and available.
I see what you are saying, but what can we do to help? Pollution is very toxic and we need a way to help reduce or prevent it.
ReplyDeleteI especially love this post because you're explaining something that is happening all around the world! it's basically silent death. We should definitely do something about our pollution because it doesn't only effect our enviroment it effects us!
ReplyDeletePollution is very toxic and causes diseases (Like cancer) so it kills humans and possibly animals, but how would we prevent this or at-least reduce? And if stopped the factories from making resources people would be affected even more cause of starvation and other wants and needs for people.
