Blogging #2 - Newspaper Consumption

Newspaper Consumption
How many newspapers do you or your family read in a week? The average family reads some sort of newspaper everyday of the week. Think about where you live, how many neighbors do you have? Now multiply that amount by 7, that is about how many booklets of paper are wasted every week. Those people will use approximately 28,301 newspapers in their lifetime.  It may not seem like a huge problem because it’s our lifestyle, you get up, read the paper, then head to work, but this issue is more serious than you may think. Everyday the population of trees decrease dramatically, the main source is newspapers. In the United States, one years worth of newspapers uses 191,000,000 trees! This amount is crazy, that's forests and forests worth of trees! Those trees chopped down has caused animals homeless, some endangered, some dead, and an even more polluted environment for us. With the amount of trees getting chopped down, this results in 1000 more tons of carbon dioxide released into our air each day. By the time we are adults, our air will be extremely polluted if we keep this up, the average American uses 43 trees for a lifetime support of newspapers, and if you think of all the 8 billion people in our world, there is an unbelievable amount of trees used for newspapers, not to mention all the other paper we use! If you want to breathe healthy air when you grow up, start by using our neighbors/friends newspapers instead of getting our own, our read the newspaper online!
