Hunger and World Poverty
About 25,000 people die from hunger each day from hunger, or hunger related causes.
Children are the most affected by hunger and poverty. There is enough food to feed to world, but the thing is most people can't afford to eat due to poverty. They are lacking money for them to buy the food they need to survive. This makes people less able to work, which makes them even more hungry and in poverty.
There are programs that can help stop this such as the "food for work" group. The "food for work" group build's stuff for food. Some of the thing's the build are schools, wells, and make roads. And for children there is a group called "food for education." This group gives children food for whenever they attend school.
The education they get from this will help them get out of poverty and hunger.
Recorded in 2010, 925 million people are affected by world hunger. That's an estimate of 13.6 percent of 6.8 billion people. Or in other words, one in seven people are in hunger.
Almost half the world in the world are affected by poverty and hunger.
These are the things we are committed to try and reduce and prevent poverty:
Poverty has an impact on and cost to society, From greater demands on the health care and criminal justice systems, to diminished workplace and economic productivity.
Poverty doesn't only affect health of Canadians, but it puts a huge price tag on our health care system.
There is proof showing that Canada would save over 7.6 billion dollars per year by moving people to the second lowest income bracket instead of the lowest income bracket.

This picture here is what people call a Favela
A Favela is a run down area where they have gangs, poverty, crime, murder etc.
They have a "gang" in most Favela's called the Militia.
A favela is a really poor place, they don't have any windows, they can't lock their doors,
So technically, anyone could brake into someones house and steal something.
How do you think someone could stop people from living in a Favela?
