How clean is our water?

-- Austin Conarroe

How CLEAN is OUR WATER? CLEAN or NOT?

I believe that our water is not clean at all, our water is just full of Mercury which is affecting the fish

and when we eat the fish we get the mercury into us, mercury is very dangerous for us it can give us headaches, diarrhea, difficulty breathing and damage to our kidneys, If we have a higher dosage we will get shakes around our whole body, memory loss and intelligence loss. and if we take a huge dosage it can kill us it also can cause serious health issues for pregnant woman and children all around. our fish is basically contaminated with mercury and those fish go into cans of food and we eat it. I like Tuna and probably people all around the world also do but we cannot eat it daily cause of what companies had done to the water. Another thing in our water is garbage. in India they're oceans are completely full of garbage and one place in India has a huge landmass which is all compressed garbage. A thing they do with they're garbage is they throw it into the ocean. Cause of the mass garbage in the water fish die cause they get trapped into tangled huge nets and some fishes die from air loss cause garbage covered the ocean so they couldn't get to the top to refill on air.

What we should do to fix this is we should stop dumping trash into the water and clean and filter the water so  fish can live and we can eat fish without mercury harming us. Over time this will help the mercury and garbage problem and also will help the fish, but then what do we do with the garbage companies have left over? People don't really do get rid of they're garbage safely, they pour dangerous substances down the drain and put garbage in places that garbage will harm organisms and more. A way we can dispose of garbage in a useful and safe way is we can turn it into soil for plants, We can turn garbage into rich soil for plants if we get alot of soil and garbage and have the decomposers decompose the waste into soil for plants.
but downfall for this is that only some kinds of garbage can be decomposed into garbage. We can also donate worn out items that we consider garbage to the poor, We can donate left over paint or such to art places and other places in need of paint and other items, it has a lower cost overall and no harmful wastes have been dumped everywhere.

  1. Austin i like the topic you choose to debate. But still i have some questions
1.If all the water in the world in not clean( as you have said in the first paragraph) so where are we getting our water from. Are we drinking the dirty water?
    2. Are all the machines that are used to purify water not enough to clean the water?
i totally agree with you on how we are losing fishes but i also think that we can get the clean water by using the purifying machines!so its not really harm full for us if we purify it.
    thanks
