Louise McKinney
Louise was a Provincial Politician and a Woman's Right Activist from the province Alberta,Canada.She was the very first woman confirmed into the Legislative assembly of Canada and the first woman elected to a legislature in Canada and in the British empire. She believed in temperance education, stronger liquor control, women's property rights and the Dower Act.(The Dower Act would allow a woman legal rights to one third of her husband’s property). McKinney was part of the Famous 5 which included Irene Parlby, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Emily Murphy and Nellie McClung. They all fought together for what they believed was true and they fought for what they deserved.They changed what the word "Woman" means and reversed what Men thought of them,these woman showed qualities only showed in men,back in the day.Showed leadership and that working hard will get you places you wanna go.
